Jon Heintz is Executive Director at the Applied Technology Council and structural engineer with more than 30 years of experience in earthquake engineering practice and research, seismic evaluation and retrofit, natural hazard mitigation and policy development, and strategic planning on structural engineering research needs at the national level. Jon is actively involved in the development of guidelines, codes and standards for new and existing buildings, and in charge of technical development projects in seismic, wind, tsunami, and coastal inundation hazards. He has led numerous ATC projects, most notably those leading to the publication of FEMA P-58, Seismic Performance Assessment of Buildings, Methodology and Implementation, and FEMA P-2090/NIST SP-1254 Recommended Options for Improving the Built Environment for Post-Earthquake Reoccupancy and Functional Recovery Time.
