Charlotte Ochoa is an embodied carbon specialist with the EPA working on the implementation of embodied carbon initiatives under the Inflation Reduction Act. In this role she has focused on the enhancement and availability of EPDs and the increased procurement of low carbon construction materials on public projects. She previously worked as a Structural Engineer and Structural Sustainability Leader for multiple mid-rise building construction projects, with experience conducting Whole Building Life Cycle Assessments and drafting lower embodied carbon steel and concrete specifications. Charlotte is a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Master of Engineering degree in Structural Engineering. She is an active member of the ASCE-SEI Sustainability Committee and the SE 2050 Committee.
