John Hooper is a Senior Principal and the Director of Earthquake Engineering at Magnusson Klemencic Associates, a 150-person consulting structural and civil engineering firm in Seattle, Washington. John has over 40 years of engineering experience in the fields of seismic renovation, seismic analysis and design of new buildings, and standards and code development. He is active on numerous standards, and code committees, including serving chair of the Building Seismic Safety Council’s Provisions Update Committee, member of ASCE 7-28 Main Committee, and past chair of the ASCE 7) Seismic Subcommittee.
