Ryan Kersting is a licensed Structural Engineer and Principal with Buehler Engineering in Sacramento, CA with over 25 years of experience in the structural engineering profession. Ryan is the immediate past president of the Applied Technology Council, is the 2023-24 president of the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations, and is a former president of the Structural Engineers Association of California. He was the chair of the committee that authored the FEMA-NIST Report to Congress on Functional Recovery, is a member of the ATC-138 project team developing a functional recovery methodology, and is currently serving as chair of the Functional Recovery Task Committee under the Provisions Update Committee working on the 2026 NEHRP Recommended Seismic Provisions.
